Ekta Kapoor Is Getting Rape Threats From The Same People Who Objected To The Sex Scene In XXX2. And She’s Calling Them Out
ALTBalaji and Ekta Kapoor have been called out by some for showing an Indian Army uniform in a reprehensible manner in their latest web series XXX2 or Triple X-2. We also know that “Hindustani Bhau” surfaced masquerading as a sanskaar custodian to spew venom on a woman and her family. And while it’s okay to feel patriotic and expressing your vexation towards something is valid, it is never okay to give a woman rape threats to “teach her a lesson.” And yet, several men of our country come down to the very same thing the moment they don’t agree with a woman’s actions.
Speaking about the scene that sparked all the controversy and outrage, Ekta Kapoor revealed that it has been deleted. “Of course when we got to know that there’s also an FIR that has been launched, we removed the content immediately. The content aside, I don’t mind my team coming up with an apology and to put out an apology for the army officer’s wives because we have no problem with them,” Kapoor explained.
Keeping the sentiments of people in mind, Kapoor decided to humbly apologise and also expressed her deepest deference for the Indian Army. And that’s okay. But what is not okay is Ekta Kapoor receiving obscene and vile comments by these self-professed culture vigilantes, which has shifted the conversation from the content to cyber-bullying. “But something else started simultaneously, which irritated me the most and that’s cyber-bullying. The gentleman (referring to Hindustani Bhau), who thinks he’s ‘the patriot of the year’, decided to come out there and abuse my mother, abuse me and then have his trolls do the same thing and has now, apparently, openly put out a rape threat on a social platform. This is now no longer about the army or sexual content because the irony is you want to rape a girl and rape her brother and rape her mother, her 71-year old mother, for making sexual content. In other words, sex is bad, but rape is okay,” she asserted.

The very people who are trying to act like they are of superior morals and patriotism are letting filth in their head show and threatening to rape a woman. These are the very people who treat women as nothing but a body they’d love to tear down – for pleasure, for power, for revenge. Sexual aggression used a tool to gratify their thirst for power and expression of hatred is the reason India is neck-deep in rape culture. Where are their sanskaars when they make such vile comments about violating a woman?
Ekta Kapoor is a strong woman, whether you agree with her content or not, she is not going to silently accept sexual aggression and bullying. “This was a fictional character and a mistake and sleight on our side, which we rectified. However, I have now decided to take the route to stand up to this cyber-bullying. But if anybody can decide to take my nudes, call me ‘randi’ (whore), then tomorrow they can do this to any girl. So, clearly, you don’t really want to tackle the actual situation. You have seem the lowest-hanging fruit. You have been obscene to women. You have not cared to understand who has produced the show, too, as you’ve not tagged anyone else, and you want to rub my nose in the ground. Well, you’re not getting a chance,” Kapoor said.

These misogynistic men when they feel threatened by a woman in power, often use sexual aggression to ‘straighten the woman’ and try to strip her of her confidence. They want to teach women a lesson, feeling a sense of superiority by subjecting her to lewd remarks because there’s clearly no level too low. Like what makes these men think they actually are in a place to go around disciplining women? And the fact that they can do nothing but go defrocking a woman sexually to do so proves the very foundation of the rape culture in the world – using sex to establish the reign of toxic masculinity.
