This LGBTQ Group Recreated Deepika Padukone’s Red Carpet Looks At A Pride Parade. We Teared Up A Little!
We know Deepika Padukone as a strong and resilient woman, who has made sure she uses her stature for all the right purposes. She was one of the first few actors in Bollywood who opened up about her depression, and her journey of recovering from it. Deepika not only opened up a dialogue about mental health, a largely taboo topic, but also encouraged people to drop the stigma surrounding it. In fact, she didn’t stop at that. She went on to establish a mental health foundation called, The Live Love Laugh Foundation that helps spread awareness about depression and even connects professionals with people to help them get through this trying time. The Padmavaat actress has also extensively and openly supported the LGBTQ community, and the idea of legalising same-sex marriages in India. So when a pride parade took place in Vadodara, no wonder a group in the parade decided to recreate Deepika’s Cannes Film Festival 2019 and Met Gala 2019 looks.
A group of the LGBTQ community were at a pride parade, and they were positively beaming, having recreated Deepika’s iconic red carpet looks from this year. Honestly, we’re so impressed with their style and the way they recreated her looks. They looked like joy personified, and even Deepika Padukone shared a picture of them posing on her Instagram story!

Deepika Padukone’s fan page posted the image of the group with the caption, “It was heartening to see them wear their vision of my Cannes and MET Gala outfits for the pride parade march in Vadodara. I came across some pictures of them and they looked absolutely stunning (sic).” We don’t know whether these were the actual words of Deepika, but the fact that she shared this post definitely means she’s showing her support.
In fact, she even got a rainbow cake for Ranveer Singh’s birthday, subtly pledging her support to the LGBTQ community. Earlier in an interview when she was asked about legalising same-sex marriages in India, she said, “It feels strange to me that we even have to ask that question and the fact that we need to address it. We should not even allow ourselves to even be in this place where somebody else dictates how and with whom you want to spend the rest of your lives.”

Last year, the couple had given a shout-out to the LGBTQ community on Instagram by celebrating the milestone judgement og the Supreme Court of India on Section 377.
On the work front, Deepika Padukone has just completed shooting for Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak, which is also her first-time try at production. She will also be playing Romi (Kapil Dev’s wife) alongside hubby Ranveer Singh in Kabir Khan’s 83.
