Deepika Padukone Said She Always Wanted To Be An Actress, Despite Only Watching Two Films A Year Growing Up

Bollywood’s most desirable actress, Deepika Padukone is gearing up for her next big release, Chhapaak that will hit the theatres on January 10, 2020. Chhapaak will also mark her debut as a producer. The Piku actress was also named one of the 100 Most Influential people In The World by Time last year. Since her debut film, Om Shanti Om, Deepika Padukone has worked at honing her craft and establishing herself as more than just a pretty face, she’s now a bankable star. The stunning actress recently opened up in an interview with Vogue on her Bollywood journey.

Recalling her Bollywood journey, Deepika Padukone said she always dreamt of being an actress and doing films. Deepika said, “I had no training, no mentors. I worked it all out on my own. Sure, I had some failures, personal and professional. But sheer determination fuelled me. It was empowering.”

Deepika Padukone and her younger sister, Anisha Padukone watched two films a year in their childhood. The diva always loved being in front of the camera and she knew that was her calling! Talking about what drove her to films, Deepika said,  “As a family, we saw maybe two films a year. I don’t know why. But whenever I watched a movie, I knew that one day I’d be doing this. I’d start with modelling, then go into films. And that’s exactly how it happened.”

Deepika Padukone is one of the most humble and down to earth actress the generation has. She’s immensely grateful to her parents for letting her live the life she always wanted and follow her dreams.  “When I’m complimented for my work, but you know what’s most rewarding for me? When people tell me I haven’t changed. That I am still myself,” Deepika concluded.
