#HauteSpaces: Enjoy The Scenic View At The Hippie Trail

Taking a break from fancy and luxurious stores and restaurants, I have picked the perfect café this week that will surely find a place in your heart. While recently planning for a trip up north, I came across this cozy café in everyone’s current favourite location — Kasol. Now that I have your attention, let me tell you that The Hippie Trail (yes, that’s the name!) has a branch in Hauz Khaz Village, New Delhi, too, that overlooks a lake.
Surrounded by mountains on all sides, this place looks like a shack from the outside, with prayer flags adding a hilly essence. Low, cushioned seating, bright purple curtains, long windows, wooden doors, and quotes thrown about here and there, this one is the definition of a backpackers’ café. Dreamcatchers of all sizes are the major USP in both places, when it comes to the décor.
Quirky rhinestone lamps, chairs of different colours, phrases on little signboards on the tables, a ladder in the middle of the room with adorned with fairylights, and a quiet seating area near the window complete the space. The walls have trippy paintings of owls, evil eye, Sanskrit lines, and so much more. Showpieces of the likes of a small bicycles, coasters, tea pots, trunks, and colourful rugs add to the interiors of the space.
This café, whether in the hills of Kasol or the bylanes of the capital, reminds you of home. Imagine being here, cuddled in a blanket, with a hot cup of tea, with a friend playing the guitar, and everyone just sharing their travel tales over some good heartwarming food. Sigh.
