Dear Internet, Anushka Sharma Doesn’t Care About Urvashi Rautela Hugging Virat Kohli, Maybe You Shouldn’t Either?

In my honest opinion, people in India can all be qualified as big time opportunists. I say this after much contemplation over how quickly they milk any opportunity to jump to absurd and baseless conclusions in matters that they have absolutely nothing to do with, in the first place. Talk about minding their own business (not!). This after they recently preyed on Urvashi Rautela for hugging a statue of the captain of the Indian Cricket team, Virat Kohli. Yes, you read that right.

The actress, among many others, was present for the most anticipated India Pakistan Match on 16th June, and was seen cheering for the team and Virat Kohli, in full steam. Later she posted a picture on her Instagram, in which she could be seen hugging and posing with a wax statue of Virat Kohli at Madame Tussauds. Only, for god knows what valid reason, the netizens thought it was reason enough to drag the missus into it.

They apparently, virtually  ‘told’ and trolled Urvashi for the hug, and promptly pointed it out to Anushka Sharma. There were mean comments, and lots and lots of flak that the actress received for what was only a casual hug. Not like Anushka cared or had any reason to, because last we checked, a hug, to a statue no less, was not a crime anyway.

Not only that, there were also a couple of comments that dragged Hardik Pandya’s name into the mess, for reasons only they knew of. Guess this is what making a mountain out of a mole hill means, or in this case, out of a hug.

And we couldn’t help but wonder if the same kind of reaction would have been doled out had it been for a fan other than the former Miss Universe. Because we don’t remember Ranveer Singh getting trolled for his selfie with Virat. And let’s say she did hug the captain in person, it still wouldn’t have mattered because we like to believe it is the 21st century and people are allowed to greet, appreciate and acknowledge each other, without being called a home-wrecker for it. But maybe, just MAYBE, we were being too far-fetched with the idea, because clearly our society is of a different and honestly, very stupid belief.

Sorry to burst your bubble guys, but it kinda takes more than a hug to a wax statue to break up a marriage. Anushka doesn’t care, maybe you shouldn’t either?
