Can you imagine taking your daily run or hitting the gym every day without some music? I sure can’t! I need my earphones and my handy old iPod wherever I go. While I often receive flak for constantly listening to music while I’m travelling with family, I can’t help myself. I need good music wherever I am, whatever I’m up to!

More importantly, listening to music while you run or workout really helps. It can motivate you and keep you focused. You won’t even realise how much you’ve exerted yourself because you’re going to be humming along to the sound. Music also works as a calming factor, enabling you to workout or run without stressing about other things that are buzzing around inside your head.

So the next time you’re heading out for a walk or to your gym, make sure you have these 8 songs in your playlist. Prepare for the most fun workout session ever!


1. Burn — Ellie Goulding

This is one of my favourite tracks. It’s a fast and peppy number that’ll keep you going. The beats will definitely inspire you to run that extra mile!

Don’t even get me started on this number. It’s been right at the top of my playlist for the longest time. The beats will make you feel like getting up and dancing your heart out. This one needs to be on your list, for sure.

All Of The Lights is the perfect song to listen to when you’re working out. The beats will make your workout session a lot more fun and will also help keep up your energy levels!

Major Lazer is one of my all-time favourite artists. Listening to any of his songs while you work out sure is a good idea. But Light It Up is my personal favourite and something that I tend to listen to whenever I get up early enough for a jog!


8. Bang Bang — Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj

This song is bold, spunky, and great to listen to. It’s ideal for when you’re taking a quick jog around the park or while you finish up with your cardio.
