An Assamese Couple Wore Customised Face Masks With Traditional Motifs For Their Wedding. We Love This
The restrictions that have become the new normal due to COVID-19 have brought out the creativity in people all over the world. In the past few months, we’ve seen folks take up some insane challenges, do things they’ve never done before, and pursue their hobbies while practicing social distancing. However, this creativity and resilience has not stopped there. Couples who were set to tie the knot during this time have come up with some pretty interesting ways to make their wedding happen, while still following the rules that need to be followed for their health and safety.
Recently, an Assamese couple has joined the club of quarantine weddings. The bride and groom, who are from Guwahati, decided to give their face masks a traditional touch to match their wedding attire. The bride’s face mask was made of Assam’s ‘Paat Silk’ and bears the kingkhap motif on it. It has also been decorated with tassels. The groom went for a simpler one, also made of a beautiful silk. As a result, their wedding pictures have come out absolutely stunning! The masks compliment their outfits perfectly – we can hardly tell that it isn’t ordinarily a part of the ensemble.
“The idea was to leave the surgical approved protective masks for the medical staff and encourage the population to wear more fabric made masks with unique and creative designs,” said Nandini Borkakati, the designer of the mask. “We interpreted that idea and created this glamorous piece with the unique use of tassels.”
