Alia Bhatt And Ranbir Kapoor’s Fake Wedding Invitation Going Viral Proves People Will Believe Anything On Social Media
I may sound like a 60-year-old, but sometimes I fail to understand social media. Actually, it’s not so much about the platforms but about the netizens. I won’t deny the fact that most of us stay glued to our phones or at least feel the incessant need to check our notifications. I mean, we aren’t as updated on our partners as we are on Priyanka and Nick’s digital PDA. It’s not just about investing a lot of time; the biggest problem is that we believe anything that’s on social media. That every human has flawless skin, no couple ever fights and every person is traveling all the time. So when a very questionable invitation of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor surfaced, people somehow bought into it. They shared it so extensively that it actually went viral and publishing sites starting picking it up.
What really amazes me is that if you look carefully into the invitation, you will just know that it is fake. Because if that’s how their wedding invitation actually looked like, I would seriously question the existence of their brain cells. Here’s why it was hideously fake. The invitation read, “Mrs. Neetu & Mr. Rishi Kapoor cordially invite you for the Sagan Ceremony of their son Ranbir with Aliya (D/o Mrs. Soni & Mr. Mukesh Bhatt on wednessday, 22th January, 2020 5:00 pm onwards.”

Like really? Alia’s name is spelled as “Aliya”. I am pretty sure Alia knows the spelling of her own name. Secondly, what is Mrs. Soni? It’s supposed to be Soni Razdan. Thirdly, as much as I know, her father is Mahesh not Mukesh Bhatt. Also, note the spelling of Wednesday and 22nd is written as 22th. OMG! There is so much wrong with this invitation. If you’re one of those who believed it to be authentic, I think it’s time for you to do some introspection. Maybe it’s sleep deprivation that’s hurting your brain cells.

While we do know that the couple is planning to tie the knot in 2020, this invitation is pretty much fake. Earlier, a report by Mumbai Mirror revealed that Ranbir asked Alia’s hand in marriage from her father and even got very emotional while at it. So I am really excited with how that’s going to turn out. And clearly, with the fake invitation doing the rounds, everyone is super elated. Which designer do you think she will wear for the wedding? Hint: It might be a Sabysachi. Can’t wait!
