That’s the thing about memories, you can relive them, but just in your heart. So when a fan page on Instagram uploaded a throwback picture of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Taal, netizens shared it extensively. It’s been two decades since Aishwarya played the role of the sweet yet strong girl Mansi, who went from being a small-town girl to a musical sensation.

In the throwback picture, you can see her in the famous all-white outfit, we all remember from the movie. It’s a BTS shot of Saroj Khan choreographing her steps for the song Ramta Jogi. This picture made everyone reminisce the good ol’ days! A user commented “Looks like a painting.” While another wrote, “Look at Aishwarya’s waistline.” Although Aishwarya’s frame is not as petite as it used to be, she still looks nothing less than perfect. In fact, I don’t believe that there should be any pressure on women to have a 24-inch waistline – not after having kids, not after growing older, in fact never! The fact that she has been trolled so many times, after gaining weight shows the hypocritical nature of our society. Or do we just have unrealistic expectations from celebrities?

In an interview with Deccan Chronicle last year, she revealed that the entire team of Taal had foreseen how special the film would turn out to be. “We all knew Taal was magical from day one. It had the grander staging typical of a Subhash Ghai film, and yet it was different from his other works, it was just magical. We knew we were working on something beautiful,” she had said.
