A Man Raped A 22-Year-Old Girl, Filmed The Act And Shared The Video Online After She Got Married. Her Husband Left Her.
Trivia Time: According to official data, a woman is raped every 15 minutes in our country. Did you know that? If this isn’t enough, these statistics are obviously based solely on the rape cases that get reported. But alas, there must be loads that never see the light of day. Women suffering in silence all because her family and her society are too ashamed. The case we are discussing today though involves a 22-year-old who was raped a few months ago. It was never reported because the family was too ashamed. The accused though had other plans He shared a video of the monstrous act on social media after the victim got married. If this isn’t traumatic enough, this caused the victim’s husband to abandon her. It’s a disturbing ordeal.
In Uttar Pradesh’s Revti, a 22-year-old girl was raped by a man, Narendra, who also filmed the entire thing. So, when she got married in December 2020 the accused shared the ghastly video on social media. If I didn’t know any better, I would say her getting married bruised his ego and we all know what happens when a man’s ego is threatened. Anyway, that’s just speculation. The video being shared resulted in the victim’s husband abandoning her. So she’s like some object? Dumped because she was touched by someone else? Ugh. Some love and support this is.

Station House Officer of Revti police station, Praven Singh told PTI that, “Narendra raped the 22-year-old woman in January 2020 and made the video of the act viral in December 2020 after her marriage.”
According to the police, the victim’s father filed a complaint on 5th February. They hadn’t filed one earlier because of shame and societal pressure. Following that, an FIR was filed and Narendra was arrested on Tuesday.
I don’t know what worse, the fact that the girl’s family didn’t bother reporting the rape until the video was floating around online or the fact that her husband took off as soon as the rape came to light. It’s shameful. Hopefully, now that the police have arrested the accused, the victim will get some semblance of justice.
