Here’s All You Need To Know About Shriya Saran’s Secret Wedding In Udaipur
Looks like secret weddings are the flavour of the season. First, there was the Virushka wedding. Then Surveen Chawla opened up about her secret wedding. And more recently, television sweethearts Keith and Rochelle tied the knot in a secret wedding held in Chennai.
The latest one to join the secret wedding bandwagon is South superstar Shriya Saran, who married her Russian boyfriend Andrei Koscheev, in a hush-hush wedding held in Udaipur.
Though the actress has made no official statement about the same, pictures of their nuptials have surfaced on the Internet. From the look of it, Shriya gave her Russian boyfriend a taste of her Indian roots, as the ceremonies were done according to traditional Hindu rituals. The celebrity attendees included Manoj Bajpayee and Shabana Azmi.
For those wondering who Andrei Koscheev is… well, the handsome groom is a national-level tennis player, and also owns a chain of restaurants in Moscow.
For the day wedding ceremony, the 35-year-old actress wore a pink silk saree, which she paired with a gold blouse that has gota patti work all over it. In true blue traditional style, Shriya wore the saree with a matha patti, a septum ring and a nose ring, while long gold earrings brought the look together. Andrei Koscheev, on the other hand, matched his wife in a simple dust pink kurta.
In pictures from the Varmala ceremony, Shirya wore a traditional red bridal lehenga. The actress paired the bridal outfit with a matha patti, a nose ring and an armband, along with a layered kundan necklace, and traditional red and green bangles. The groom, Andrei Koscheev, wore a simple black bandh gala along with a saffron headgear.
In a cute video from the wedding, Andrei Koscheev is seen speaking in Hindi for Shriya, and he also recited the famous Bollywood dialogue “Pyaar mein sauda nahi hota.”
In the video, he is seen saying, “If someone loves you, they love you the way you are. If someone asks you to change for love, that is not love, that is compromise and in love, we don’t compromise…” Isn’t that just adorbs?
For the mehendi, Shriya had a fun and colourful Holi-themed party. The look she picked for the mehendi was a yellow tie-dye lehenga, that she paired with a white crop top and a yellow dupatta. She styled the look with floral jewellery, which is a big hit with brides these days.
For the sangeet ceremony, Shriya wore a royal blue lehenga that went with the royal backdrop of Udaipur, and she styled it with a heavy kundan choker style necklace and a barola. In another adorable video from the sangeet, the couple is seen holding each other and dancing.
Well, the pictures do look like the wedding was a hell of a lot of fun! Here is wishing Shriya and Andrei a happy married life!
