6 Boys Gang Raped A 30-Year-Old Woman In UP. They Filmed The Act And Tried To Sell The Clips

It’s no secret that being a woman in this world is not safe or easy. Especially when you are a Dalit woman living on the fringes of society in a non-women-friendly state like UP. They are probably the most vulnerable of us all. It’s no wonder that these women have been constantly been the targets of violent crimes. Does anyone remember the Hathras gang-rape? Following in the same footsteps, yet another gruesome and brutal gang rape has come to light. In UP, a woman was gang-raped by 6 men. Not only that, but the accused also filmed the monstrous act. The details are bone-chilling.

A 30-year-old woman was gang-raped by 6 men, including minors aged between 15 and 17 years. According to reports, this incident took place six months ago, in October, in a field near Meerut. However, the violent crime only came to light this Saturday when the police caught the accused trying to sell clips of the gang-rape for Rs 300.

The woman, who belonged to the Dalit community, probably did not raise her voice fearing shame in her village. She works as a domestic worker and has children of her own. In the video that the accused were trying to sell, it’s clearly audible that the woman was pleading the men not to film the heinous act.

A police officer said, “The woman went to collect forest wood when she was raped by five accused, who were all minors. The video was sold for Rs 300 by one of their friends who is a 20-year-old. He is also made an accused in the case. The crime occurred in October.”

Let me get this straight. Five minors raped a woman, filmed the monstrous act and then a sixth person tried to sell the clips for Rs 300. It’s truly chilling. But more than that this incident is a like a slap in the face. Is this how the boys in our country are being raised? We are going very wrong somewhere.

All the six accused in this case have been arrested and the woman has been sent for a medical examination. Let’s hope that unlike so many women before her, she gets the justice she deserves.
