5 Movies To Binge Watch This Christmas

Christmas is truly one of my favorite festivals. There is nothing more fun than putting up lights, decorating the tree and of course receiving presents. Though there are practically a hundred ways to celebrate Christmas, my favorite way has been to sit cozily with a bowl of popcorn and a mug of hot chocolate and binge on a bunch of Christmas movies. Mostly because I am lazy and like to spend more of my weekends watching Netflix. Here are a few movies that I have always enjoyed watching and if you haven’t watched these yet, add them to your list for Christmas. You won’t regret it!

It’s a wonderful life

There are very few movies that define Christmas the way ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ does. This 1946 fantasy movie by Frank Capra shows us that miracles are possible even when your life is in the dumps. It follows the protagonist, George Baily who is on the verge of committing suicide when he is visited by his guardian angel, Clarence. He shows George the real importance of celebrating life. This movie is not only a classic but also a Christmas staple. If you haven’t watched it yet, it’s just the movie to kick-start your Christmas binge.

The Knight Before Christmas

Starring Vanessa Hudgens, The Knight Before Christmas is the perfect movie for all rom-com lovers. This movie took me back to my teenage years. Maybe because it had Vanessa Hudgens. The story revolves around a woman named Brooke who has lost all hope of finding her, one true love. But she does find her knight in shining armor when she meets Sir Cole, a time-travelling 14th-century prince. This movie really is all things Christmassy and adorable.

The Holiday

Another classic Nancy Meyers Christmas movie that you should not miss out on. The Holiday revolves around the lives of two women- one living in London (Kate Winslet) and one in LA (Cameron Diaz). Both the women are facing romantic difficulties in their respective lives which leads them to swap apartments for the holidays. It is a movie about love, adventure, and unlikely friendships. I would suggest you watch this one with your BFF.

Love Actually

The beauty of this move lies in its multiple narrations. It follows the romantic lives of nine couples who manage to overcome the complexities in their lives and find love just in time for Christmas.Isn’t it awwdorable? Though it released in 2003, this movie has had a huge influence on all rom-coms over the decade. It is equal parts cheesy and Christmassy, making it the perfect addition for your binge-watch list.

The Princess Switch

Another perfect Vanessa Hudgens movie for you to watch this Christmas. As the name suggests, The Princess Switch is about two identical women, switching places one week before Christmas and falling in love with the men in each other’s lives. It is light, breezy and will give you all the Christmas feels you need.
