Editor’s Pick: Bushra’s Ikat Kurta With A Modern Twist
At the risk of sounding older than I actually am, I must admit that I LOVE clothes that are roomy and allow my body to move unhindered. And no, roomy does not equate ill-fitting. I absolutely dislike clothing that doesn’t fit and fall well or isn’t tailored to perfection. Which is why the first thing that caught my eye about this kurta from Weavers Studio was its silhouette. It is long and sleek and has a seriously cool vibe that I heart.
I have always had a soft spot for Indian textiles, and this blue-black Ikat print over white khadi is a real thing of beauty. While this is definitely a summer staple, I do think it makes for the perfect winter white ensemble too. Moreover, the zippered detailing along the front adds a totally modern touch to an otherwise traditional outfit. I can see myself wearing this for a leisurely brunch with white culottes or even wearing it unzipped to work over a pair of jeans and a tank top. Now who doesn’t love a versatile Indian garment like that!
