Salman Khan Asked Sonakshi Sinha To Lose Weight Because He Wanted To Cast Her In Dabangg. Okay Then!

It’s been nine years already since actress Sonakshi Sinha made her debut in the cop-drama film, Dabangg, alongside Salman Khan. While it was definitely carried on Salman’s shoulders, Sonakshi Sinha did make an impact. From then to now, she’s been on quite the journey. She’s glammed up, de-glammed, lost weight, worn glasses – she’s done it all in her movies. Currently the actress is looking forward to her two big releases, Khandaani Shafakhana and the multi-starrer, Mission Mangal. Sonakshi Sinha in an interview also said that her films might have not made the numbers at the box-office but her performance was never panned. Speaking on Mission Mangal, the actress believes that the film promotes the spirit of womanhood and we love that!

The stunning actress is also known for her weight loss which has been tremendous. While she doesn’t promote being a size zero, she certainly is healthy and fit as a fiddle. Most of us know that Sonakshi Sinha was overweight before the release of her first film, Dabangg. Well, the actress had to lose 30 kg before the film as she would be stepping her foot into Bollywood. Sonakshi Sinha also revealed that it was her co-star, Salman Khan who suggested she shed weight as he was looking forward to cast her in the film. While Sonakshi was busy promoting her film at The Kapil Sharma Show, she opened up on the same and said, “He strolled up to me and suggested I lose weight as he was looking forward to casting me in his movie.”

Salman Khan is set to launch yet another star kid this year into Bollywood in the third part of the same movie. Rumours has it that Mahesh Manrekar’s daughter Saiee Manjrekar would be foraying into B-Town with Dabangg 3 as she would be romancing a young Chulbul Pandey in the flashback sequences of the movie.

Recollecting her journey in Bollywood, Sonakshi revealed how Salman Khan asked her to give him a treat for the good news and said, “I had only Rs 3000 in my wallet that day and I was too embarrassed to take him out.” Interestingly Sonakshi Sinha is not a trained actor and in fact, she never planned on becoming one. Unlike most of the newcomers, who are well prepared and trained, Sonakshi Sinha says she learnt everything about the profession on film sets.

Sonakshi Sinha told PTI, “I never wanted to be an actor in the first place, I never went for workshops, acting or dancing classes. Everybody who is making their debut today are so well prepared.” She further added, “They know how to face the camera, how to pose for photographers. I didn’t know any of that. I was a fat kid, I lost weight and was put in a film. I learnt everything on set.”

On the movie front, Dabangg 3 is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 20 this year. Meanwhile Mission Mangal is all set to release on August 15, 2019 and Khandaani Shafakhana will hit the theatres on August 2, 2019.
