Who Wore it Better? Alia Bhatt and Shloka Mehta in Needle & Thread
Ladies, one of India’s most eligible bachelors, Akash Ambani is now off the market, as he proposed to childhood sweetheart Shloka Mehta in an intimate gathering in Goa.
As soon as the pictures of the same came out on Instagram, they went viral. While many hearts were broken, Shloka sure does look beaming and in love in the pictures.
The newly engaged lovebirds do make a handsome couple and make single people everywhere feel oh-so-lonely. But hey, there is always a silver lining to everything, and in this case, the silver lining is all the fashion inspiration we can seek from the lavish wedding affair.
For the proposal in Goa, Shloka picked a beautiful ruffled Marie Gown by Needle & Thread, a UK-based luxury brand. The greyish-silver, nylon tulle gown looked dreamy against the backdrop of Goa.
The gown has an embroidery technique designed to capture the delicacy of antique lace. The piece is fully embellished with iridescent sequins and has a tiered ruffled silhouette, that adds movement and texture to this embroidered gown. The embellished ruffled frills add that contemporary romance to the look.
Now as soon as we saw this look, we had a déjà vu moment as the very same gown was worn by Alia Bhatt, back in November 2017.
Back in November 2017, Alia Bhatt attended a press conference in Goa as part of the IFFI festivities. For the event, Alia picked the black version of the same Needle & Thread gown. Alia styled the look with her hair in a half up half down do. A fresh dewy face of makeup and no accessories completed Alia’s look.
We think both Alia and Shloka styled this look really well, and we cannot pick a favourite. What about you guys? Who do you think wore the Needle & Thread Marie Gown better? Let us know in the comments below.
