WATCH: H&M’s New Ad Is Going Viral For All The Right Reasons!
When H&M launched in Mumbai last month, we all went berserk! The fashion giant always knows the right tricks to please its customers, and once again, it has won hearts. It recently launched an ad for its autumn collection, which challenges the conventional ideals of being a ‘lady’. Highly relateable, stunningly shot, it’s one of the better ads we’ve seen in recent times.
Sending out a strong message, it showcases women of all shapes, sizes and ages being true to who they are. A plus-size woman flaunting her curves and revelling in her sexuality, one with the afro enjoying her meals the way she wants to, a transgender proud of her athletic body, a woman heading a board meeting, a red head happy to show her hairy armpits, and so on. Real women doing real things — not every girl needs to have a size zero body, dancing gracefully.
The cover of Tom Jone’s She’s A Lady by Lion Babe takes the ad to a whole new level. The original song was aimed at men who created these ‘ideals’ of what it’s like to be the perfect woman. Starring actress Lauren Hutton, model Adwoa Aboah, trans actress Hari Nef, Design Army’s chief creative officer Pum Lefebure, and Lion Babe’s Jillian Hervey, you will soon be grooving to the tunes of this cover.
