Sonam, Kareena & Swara’s Desi Looks Are Perfect For Your Veere’s Summer Wedding
If you have kept up with our Haute or Not segment, then you know that we have constantly been stalking the Veere Di Wedding girls- Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania, and are obsessing over their promotional style.
The promotional style of all four actresses has already set the tone for the style of the movie, and we see a lot of major trends coming out of the movie.
While their promotional #OOTDs are great, we love the desi looks they have worn in particular. Dressing in desi for summers and especially summer weddings is a rather tricky task, but the Veere girls seem to have nailed it, and found their respective “desi zones”. Scroll down for a break down of all the desi looks the Veere girls wore.
Sonam Kapoor, wore the breeziest look ever! She wore a self-printed maxi dress from Pinnacle by Shruti Sancheti. She styled the look with chunky oxidised jewellery from Amrapali Jewels and a pair of brown kolhapuri chappals. The outfit looks incredibly comfy and chic!
Dhoti pants are tricky to style. They look chic if done right, but if not, they can look dated and shabby. So, if you are looking for dhoti pant outfit inspiration, this Tarun Tahiliani look on Kareena Kapoor Khan is a good one to steal! The ivory angrakha-style kurta, paired with organza dhoti pants and simple juttis, makes for an elegant yet dressy look!
Speaking of dhoti styles, this look on Sonam Kapoor is pretty cool too. Sonam wore a gold long line kurta, with a saree, draped to give the appearance of a cropped dhoti. A simple low bun, gold pointed-toe heels and a pair of statement earrings rounded her look.
In this look, Sonam showed us the desi way of styling culottes. She was seen wearing a pretty lavender, cotton kurta, paired with a matching dupatta and culottes from Good Earth. Sonam styled the look with a pair of statement kundan and pearl earrings, and a few simple bangles from Anmol Jewellers, along with a pair of silver juttis from Fizzy Goblet. A fresh face of makeup, hair worn in a half up half down do, and a simple bindi rounded her look.
Sonam Kapoor is known for her intuitive and new takes on the classic saree, and she did just that with her Diksha Khanna saree. It is a quirky distressed saree, which she paired with a boxy, shirt style blouse and statement earrings from Eurumme Jewellery. This look is not for everyone, but is certainly a quirky take on the saree; a definite conversation starter.
Another summery lehenga we spotted was on Swara. The beauty of this ivory Punit Balana number is in its details, like the blouse’s scallop hem and matching white lehenga skirt. A pair of oxidised earrings from Apala by Sumit rounded the look.
If you are looking for a lighter, more summery desi look, your safest bet is to go white! Just like Bebo did. She was seen wearing a white look by AJSK Gulabo. The outfit included a kurta, which has a modern touch with a high collar, and a belt to give the kurta some structure. She styled the look with a pair of juttis and oxidised earrings.
Embracing the trend of yellow, Sonam Kapoor was seen wearing a House Of Kotwara anarkali. The anarkali has a cropped jacket with a fringed hem, and chikankari work on it. The kurta was paired with palazzo pants and kundan earrings.
Another white and gold desi outfit we saw was Kareena Kapoor in Punit Balana. She picked a pretty white anarkali, which she paired with palazzo pants. To match the gold zardozi work in the outfit, she chose a pair of gold jhumkas.
A fabric that is making huge waves all over the world is brocade, and Kareena Kapoor wore a pretty brocade look for one of her promotional appearances. The Raw Mango look included a brown and gold brocade kurta, which she paired with a pair of brown cropped pants and gold juttis.
Sonam Kapoor picked a royal blue lehenga for one of the promotional events. The lehenga had short sleeves, along with a scoop neck, and an itsy-bitsy blouse that looked great on her long torso. The blouse, along with the matching lehenga and dupatta, all had silver gota patti work on it.
Now that I have all these options to wear to a summer wedding, all I need to do is a find a friend who is getting married this summer!
