Style Steals: The Sequinned Shorts

Style Steals: The Sequinned Shorts

One universal fashion problem for most girls is, “What do I wear today?” This question has the power to reduce us to a hysterical mess. Fashionista or not, nobody wants sartorial answers that cost a fortune. And let’s just be honest, you’re THE style star if you know how to dress to the nines on a budget. So we’ve taken up this Herculean task: every Saturday, we’ll round up a budget-friendly ensemble for you, all BELOW Rs 10,000. Yes! It’s going to be an entire outfit — from head-to-toe — without breaking the bank. Quite a challenge, right? Scroll down to shop this budget ensemble, and don’t forget to come back every Saturday to discover an outfit that’s yet another steal!

OK, I’ll admit it — I love all things shiny. Glitters, metallics, sequins — they instantly amp up any outfit or accessory; vroom! Whether it’s on your necklace, your pants or your top, a bit of shine makes all things fine. Which is why I’m always attracted to sequinned pieces. So much so that I recently turned 30 and finally wore a gold sequinned dress that I had bought many months ago. Yes, I went dressed to my own milestone party as the shiny disco ball!

So while I was browsing online recently, I saw these cute yet sexy sequinned shorts and without a second thought, my hands reached for my credit card. Since the weekend is here (finally!) I’m sharing a look around these cuties. The idea is to let the shorts do the talking, so the other pieces in your ensemble should be subtle. I love the shorts-and-shirt look — tuck it in fully, tuck it in just a bit in the front, or leave it all out — it looks so classy chic, no matter how you style it. So for this steal of a look, I paired these Mango

So for this steal of a look, I paired these Mango sequinned shorts with a blush pink round-neck shirt (don’t you just love the way it falls?). I added a single double-layered long gold chain from Accessorize, a funky little black Stalk Buy Love bag (I mean, if you’re going out, you gotta carry your makeup) and, my second fave part of this look, these sexy cutwork coral stilettos from Koovs. The shoes give the outfit the pop of colour it needs. Walk into a bar or club in this outfit and you’re golden — quite literally, right? Swag, baby, swag.
