Street Style Spotlight: Natasha Adnani
Why wait for fashion week to stalk all your favourite street style mavens? These fashionistas are just as stylish on a normal day too. We at Hauterfly are always scouting for some style inspiration. And who better than our real girls to show us how it’s done? In our all-new series called Street Style Spotlight, we showcase real people with real style. These ladies are boss ladies in their own way, and do everything (yes, even run errands!) with oodles of style.
Meet Natasha Adnani, a stylist at Melange, a content creator and a die-hard nature lover. Her feed is as gorgeous as her, with peeks of foliage mixed with vintage-hued filters; Natty makes everything look like poetry. Even her recent work with Melange x Priya Malik was nothing less than magical and would make Frida Kahlo herself super proud.
Natasha loves and lives in minimal upcycled fashion, and she believes less is more, always. Follow her for a nostalgic yet whimsical ride through her beautiful feed and style.
Describe your style with a famous quote that inspires you
“Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” —Rachel Zoe
So you can usually tell my mood by the way I dress ;)
Where can we find you?
What sets your style apart from the rest?
I’m not one to follow trends AT ALL. I limit my purchases to the bare minimum (especially after learning how devastating the effect of the fashion industry has been on the environment), so you’ll usually find me in basics even on a night out. So yes, I can easily be that girl in blue jeans, a t-shirt and a top knot amongst the many colours, prints and passing trends.
3 key elements your wardrobe needs
Well-fitted jeans that compliment your body type. I favour high-waisted, skinny jeans that are cropped above the ankle; this adds length to your body.
A white dress shirt. I stole my mom’s and have been wearing it for years now. I leave the buttons undone with a cute bralette for a night out, or tie it up and pair it with my denim shorts when I’m out brunching (and sipping on mimosas).
A comfortable yet cute cotton/linen dress. I always find myself pulling these out on days when ‘I’m not feeling it’ or when it’s too hot, but I still want to look put together!
3 Instagram influencers you follow for inspiration and a line about each
Julie Sariñana @sincerelyjules – She has that easy-Cali, boho-chic vibe to her that I can totally relate to. Also, she’s the quintessential Cali girl and I’m kind of obsessed with California.
Nicole Warne @garypeppergirl – Chic, chic, chic! As much as I try to stray away from this worn-out word, she’s literally #goals. Have you seen her wedding pictures yet? :o
Jenny Walton @jennymwalton – For my dose of vintage (that I am currently craving). Scott Schuman @thesartorialist is dating her so there must be something to her style, right?
