With my 24th birthday around the corner, I knew just what I had to do to beat the birthday blues. I decided to go shopping and gift myself something special. You can’t blame me; it’s not every day that one can flip out completely about turning 24!

Let me tell you something: Turning 24 is no fun unless your definition of the word is everyone asking you when you plan to get married. Then they make their disapproval extremely vocal when you say you’ve got other things to do. Neither is it fun to suddenly realise just how many things you haven’t done yet because you were waiting for the right time. Your older self will be disappointed, ladies! So here I was, two weeks before my birthday, shopping by myself so there’s one thing I can tick off my bucket list. Spending my money on myself. And shopping is definitely cheaper than therapy.

I was on the lookout for ripped jeans, a casual dress and clothes for work.
