Sonam Kapoor’s FROW Fashion For Elie Saab Haute Couture 2020 Is Deliciously OTT And A Little Personal
The front row at a fashion show is equally poignant as the fresh collections that designers present on the runway. FROW crowd of a label consists of fashion’s high profile clients, industry experts, fashion journalists, celebrity friends, and family. The personalities that they manage to seat in this row are a testament to a designer’s influence on pop culture and the fashion scene. It is also a plus to have well-known celebrities attend your shows while wearing your designs. It generates buzz and it always exciting for us to see what the who’s who of fashion are wearing to a runway presentation.

The Haute Couture 2020 shows are well underway in Paris and one of our own is headed there for her own FROW moment. Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja have spent many afternoons discussing creative briefs for her multiple Cannes appearances. Given that Sonam shoulders a huge responsibility of desi representation at this global film festival, forming a good relationship with a well-known designer seems key to the success of it all.
For the show, Sonam chose a pleated and draped number from the designer’s collection. The ensemble is unlike most signature FROW styles we usually spot at Paris fashion weeks…it is deliciously OTT. Sonam has never shied away from bringing her own style to the front row, without feeling obliged to do clean lines, chic hats or minimal accessories.
She actually chose unreleased pieces from her sister, stylist Rhea Kapoor’s, upcoming collaboration with Pipa Bella. This will be her first-ever jewellery collection and it sure looks exciting. The bling is statement and striking, something we associate with Sonam already. We love the ‘Desert Goddess’ vibe that this look exudes…it is surely a novel for fashion week attendees on the other side of the shore.
