These Stylish White Sneakers Go With Everything!

By  |

Nope. We’re not giving up on sneakers anytime soon. And why should we? White kicks are super cool and stylish all at once. This guy I once dated even remarked how cute girls look in sneakers — not that we need a guy’s approval, but I tend to agree with him. And wait: I forgot to add comfortable, did I? I mean, when I can team a pair of funky sneakers with ANY outfit and they save me from crying out in pain when I’ve been on my feet all day (like at fashion week), why would I not be biased towards them? Also, I’ve said this before: Sneakers are the shoes of the hour.

If you’re a sneakerhead like me, I don’t need to harp about how a pair of Stan Smiths are not just iconic but also a shoe closet must-have. And that brings me to the collaboration between Raf Simons and Adidas Originals. The Belgian fashion designer has given his own twist to the cult sneakers to create some chic versions that have became a HUGE hit internationally. On closer inspection, you’ll realise how there’s not much added in the designer’s interpretation of the already-stylish kicks. However, it’s worth mentioning that they’re made of high-quality leather as compared to other models found in the market.

It’s still got the iconic tennis player’s name embossed below the trefoil logo of the brand right at the back of the shoe. But these high-end versions have replaced the traditional three-striped perforations to incorporate a perforated ‘R’, which is Raf Simons signature logo. This pair also has burnished rivets on it as detailing. Apart from this, the lace-up sneakers have the designer’s name embossed on the heel of the shoes as well.

If you’re all in for exclusivity, I think this is a pair to own. Otherwise, it’s quite a big deal when you look at the price. But that’s also why it’s luxe, right?

Nonetheless, for those of us who are high on style but don’t have the inclination for such a raid on the bank balance, there’s a pair of sneakers at Mango that are quite similar. Though it is not made of genuine leather unlike the Adidas ones, this pair owns the exact crisp silhouette. With soles made of rubber, these kicks have a similar tab at the back of the shoe, which is a silver metallic in hue. Another feature similar to the Adidas pair are the perforations, though the Mango sneakers have two stripes instead of three. I agree that nothing beats the original sneakers, but this one sure is a chic steal.
