‘Saand Ki Aankh’ Tells The Story Of Two Amazing Shooter Women And We Are Excited To Watch It

Everybody wonders what they would look like when they are old. For actresses Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar, that curiosity has become a reality on the poster of their new film Saand Ki Aankh. With a bit of movie magic and the magnetic charm that these actresses exude naturally, the poster looks super badass!

The upcoming movie is based on the real-life story of sharpshooters Chandro Tomar (87) and Prakashi Tomar (82), popularly known as ‘Shooter Daadis’. With a career started into their 60s, these women are part of a women-only sharpshooting team from the state of Uttar Pradesh.  Featured on many publications and popular shows like Satyamev Jayate, their story of age-defying achievements is truly inspiring and deserving of this kind of attention. Between the two, the women have won over fifty national championships in the country, with Chandro usually referred to as the oldest (woman) sharpshooter in the world.

It is so charming to see these ladies as the inspiration for a major Bollywood production. While makeup and costuming are used in many films to facilitate actors playing drastically different roles in world cinema, back home there is a lag. More recently, we saw Deepika Padukone transformed into acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal in Chhapaak with prosthetic makeup. But what has really excited, besides the dramatic, is that this movie will tell an important story of  amazing women that deserve the limelight.

While we are totally in love with the first look of Saand Ki Aankh, we are hoping to get a sneak peek into the BTS making of the film. It takes an army to age an actress in her 20s to someone in their 80s and we want all the details of how it was done!
