Over the weekend, the best and brightest of the Indian film fraternity came together under one roof to celebrate cinema. The Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival is an annual event showcasing the best films of a year. Film fanatics have the opportunity to check out international festival darlings at the event. The week-long event also consists of panel discussions and special screenings, featuring some of the biggest names in Bollywood.
A few of these names were our favourite fashion girls who turned up in their Sunday bests for the film festival. Speaking at panels based on vastly different topics like the future of Indian cinema and much else, the ladies were a treat to watch. We loved how the actors chose to keep it fun and were in their element for the appearances.

Incoporating both leather and sequins in one look, Alia took a break from her overtly feminine garbs to go rock n’ roll. Styled by a newbie stylist to watch out for, Lakshmi Lehr, Alia pulled off the separates with such ease. Janhvi Kapoor In Her Favourite Mini
Janhvi never fails to give us a great skirt moment The actress loves herself some minis and the metallic number paired with a starry shirt is deliciously retro!
When asked about a change Bollywood needs to bring about, Janhvi said,”Times are changing, but I still I think we need to have a little less “sanitised” role for women. The best such role I can think of, in the Indian context, is the one played by Nutan in Bandini. There should be more roles that portray the uninhibited side of the female – roles such as the female versions of Kabir Singh or the Joker“. Preach, girl!

Speaking on a panel, Ananya shared a funny instance of being recognised in public. “Many places – in the bathroom, in the middle of traffic, in the middle of a shot. Once, while I was shooting, this guy with a camera started running behind me, and the shot that was captured had both of us in the frame. [laughing]”, she revealed.
