Malaika Arora Is Staking Her Claim As The Queen Of Thigh High Slits. She Can Take A Few Cues From PeeCee
As far as trendsetters go, Priyanka Chopra Jonas is a damn good fashionista to mould your style statements around. She has become a fashion force not just at home but globally as well. One of her signature styles that we think helped cement her status as a red carpet ace is the obsession with thigh-high slit gowns that she just can’t shake off. PeeCee’s high slit adventures have been expansive, she has done it equally well on the red carpet and off it, once while running chores even. Since then she does seem to have moved on to smarter silhouettes like blazer suits and sheath dresses, but her ‘legs-for-days’ looks still remain one of our highlights of the year.

Fortunately for us, who are still craving a few more courses of this signature style, there is another style star who has her eyes on it. Malaika Arora has had a transformative year in fashion, with one of her go-to aesthetic being tones and bronzed legs sticking out of sultry gowns. Styled to the Gods by Maneka Harisinghani, Malaika’s tonal shift towards a no-holds-barred style game when it comes to exploring risqué statements has been exciting to watch. She is just so hot and owns it pretty damn well, as she should.
A Total Knockout
Apart from living it up on the daily, Malaika has been moonlighting as a guest judge on MTV’s Supermodel Of The Year 2019. For a recent episode, she chose a number from Bollywood’s favourite Lebanese designer RN Nicolas Jebran and gave us the riskiest thigh-high moment of the year. We like the contrast of a droopy and draped top paired with an A-line bottom, an open back and killer stilettos. This is exactly how I see myself strutting down the club this party season, although I kinda have the feeling that it’s more wishful thinking rather than an achievable reality.
She’s Almost There
While Malaika seems to have cracked the code on doing this style right, she can still take a few cues from PeeCee’s style file. For instance, incorporating the slit in casual looks as well, like a wrap dress that flares from the waist. PeeCee also shifts the slits from gowns to maxis, dressy skirts, and pants. We’d also love to see Malaika play around with some unusual silhouettes, given that she is in great shape and can carry off pretty much everything.
Some of our most-liked thigh-high slit moments from Malaika this year are:
