Want That Luxe Backpack Kiran Rao Is Sporting?

The humble backpack has gotten a rather chic makeover in the past few seasons, and it’s been making an appearance almost everywhere: the ramps, in the wardrobes of A-listers and even as a street style favourite. Obviously, even B-town’s taken a liking to this Back to School trend, with a lot of them sporting backpacks on their travels and daily escapades.

Recently, I spotted director Kiran Rao with her son Azad at the Mumbai airport, wearing a chic oxblood backpack that I just had to ID. The style sleuth in me couldn’t resist; the backpack in question is a Proenza Schouler Courier Textured Backpack and is available in pearl grey and brown as well. We also found a similar small-sized bag in sulfur, which is equally sassy.

While this luxe backpack hits all the right style notes, it’s a strict no-no for me on the price tag. THANK GOD FOR HIGH STREET BRANDS. I’ve found a not-quite-the-same but similar looking backpack at Zara, and it’s super affordable (yay!). I’ve also got to say I’m kind of biased towards this backpack more than the Proenza Schouler one because it’s larger, so more space for all the things I can’t live without when on the go.
