Karisma Kapoor Looking Like A Stunning Fairy Godmother In This Outfit. She’s Making All Our Desi Dreams Come True
I have always had a fondness for the fantastical stories in my English books. One story, in particular, stuck with me through my blossoming years and that is of the naive yet magical tale of Cinderella. The story has translated well in the #MeToo era. I mean, why didn’t Cinderella just run away from all that negativity? While the plot line of the story seems implausible, there is one detail that we wish was oh so true about it. And no, it’s not the shoe hound Prince Charming but the uber fashionable and caring Fairy Godmother! The idea of a motherly figure helping out in a time of need, literally making you a dress has such desi undertones we can’t even deal. Fortunately, though, we did get a glimpse into what our prospective Fairy Godmother might look like and that is Karisma Kapoor in a Tadashi Shoji cape gown!
The actress has been filling in for Kareena Kapoor Khan as a guest judge on Dance India Dance, and wore a celestial themed gown from the Japanese label. Here’s Karisma doing her spell moves and conjuring up for us the ball gown of our dreams!
We are so in love with this look from Karisma. The silhouette looks grand yet has a subtle feminine vibe to it. The prints feature everything from starry crystals to brooding crescent moon faces that are a whole mood. Accessorising it with some delicious encrusted hoops from Aquamarine Jewellery, the ensemble seems right out of a fairytale. The old-school low bun also deserves a special mention for being so freaking flattering. This is a label that has dressed the likes of former first lady Michelle Obama and was an Oscar dress on Octavia Spencer, and we can see how the sheer simplicity of well-spaced prints and textures can create a wonderful dress. Love!
Karisma has been inspiring us with her fab outfit choices a lot lately. We loved her smart yet intrinsically Indian outfit for Independence Day and have some ideas of our own from it.
Decked out in an ensemble from Payal Khandwala, the semi-sheer white shirt paired with zari flared pants looks so good. Got any old Banarasi sarees of your mom’s lying around the house? May we suggest running it down to masterji and comimg back with pleated pants like Karisma’s that you can rock to work and later? You are welcome for this fabulous pro tip!
Karisma has been experimental and fabulous with her outfits for her DID stints. It is thoroughly entertaining to watch her on the show and off, maybe she can join in as a full-time judge? Please!
