The pleated skirt and top set on Kareena come from the New York-based fashion label AMUR, A Mindful Use Of Resources.
The brand’s mission is pretty clear, “all materials are sourced with an eye toward environmental good, whether organic and natural fabrics, reclaimed fibres that conserve material resources or trims made by artisan collectives in the developing world.”, they say on their official page. Bebo’s slit skirt and feminine bustier are carefully crafted from recycled polyester. Priced at a a little over Rs.50,000, the whole thing might put us back a couple of month’s salary, a small price to pay for looking and feeling this good. Psst… the bustier is on sale though! You can get it here.
AMUR’s story and the process is definitely an enlightening read. With most brands working towards innovation to make fashion more environmentally friendly, this is a great find. According to their bio, the brand claims to only use, “certified organic cotton and silk, along with staple fibres like hemp and linen, which require very little water or fertiliser to grow. We also include forest-friendly cellulosic materials like cupro, a soft and silky fabric made from reclaimed cotton linter. The third pillar of our collection is regenerated textiles—waste material spun into fibre, used to form fine fabrics and trims”, they elaborated.
To match the simple yet magnetic appeal of the outfit, Kareena toned down the accessories and makeup. A pair of stacked charm necklaces (when did they make a comeback?), nude face and casual layered waves were all she needed to look this good. And that makes us just a wee bit jealous, we are only human!
In other news, Kareena is all set to delight us on the big screen again with her sequel to the Irrfan Khan hit movie Hindi Medium. The only thing we know about her role is that she is playing a cop in the movie. Going by the first looks, she might just be the chicest cop we have ever seen in Bollywood!
