Check Out Every Green Carpet Look From IIFA Rocks 2016
It’s award time again, as we’ve got IIFA 2016 happening over this weekend. Last night, we saw one of the many events that build up the mood of the finale; all the celebrities present there were dressed to the nines at the IIFA Rocks 2016 at Madrid. We sure know that an awards red carpet is that hot ticket for every celebrity to be in the limelight and flaunt their stylish, edgy avatars by the ensembles they opt for. Let’s be honest, thousands of us gape into our computer screens just to catch a glimpse of who’s wearing what… and obviously it’s a win-win for the celebrity too as this is a chance for them to rake up their social media status in turn. From stylists to make-up artists, the whole team behind the celebrity makes it a point that they can put their best fashionable foot forward as they make an entrance.
IIFA Rocks 2016 was a night when some stunners took to the green carpet in utmost chic looks. I know you can’t wait for the style files from the main event, but till that happens, I’ve rounded up of the IIFA Rocks 2016 green carpet. Scroll on!
1. DEEPIKA PADUKONE
She stole the night by donning a custom-made Swapnil Shinde black plunging neckline gown (apparently, the designer made it in a night… WOAH). Completing her look with a Farah Khan Fine Jewellery neckpiece with pearls strung on it, and rings by Anmol, Deepika completed her look with phenomenal makeup and a dramatic hairdo. Can this woman be any more gorgeous? *Girl Crush Moment*
2. NARGIS FAKHRI
Wearing a vista blue pantsuit by designer Monisha Jaising, Nargis kind of set the green carpet on fire (blame it on those golden hand woven temple borders on the sleeves). She wore a pair of nude ankle-strap sandals and sans accessories. You’ll agree with me when I say this — not a suit anyone and everyone can pull off. But Nargis looked sleek in it! Also, so glad to see these style stars ditch the gown for more androgynous looks. LOVE!
3. SONAKSHI SINHA
It was an olive green beaded gown by Zara Umrigar for Sonakshi, that she teamed with a cocktail ring, a choker, and metallic ankle-strap sandals. All those fashion credits go to her stylist Alia Al Rufai; I personally think this is not a look easy to pull off, but Sonakshi looks great. Between the sartorial choices and the styling in terms of hair and make-up, anyone else feel a seventies vibe going on here?

4. ATHIYA SHETTY
Styled by Ami Patel, Athiya wore a Rayane Bacha jumpsuit in icy blue that she paired with a matching-hued clutch by Judith Leiber. Opting for neutral-toned sandals, the pop of colour in her look was imparted by those berry lips that look stunning with her outfit. You like?
5. ADITI RAO HYDARI
I always wait for her red carpet (green carpet here) looks, and I must say, she has never disappointed. This time, Aditi wore a uber-pretty ruffled and laced off-shoulder gown by Saiid Kobeisy, that she teamed with some stunning trings from Anmol. Love the tousled waves that fall to one side; so princess-y right?

6. DIA MIRZA
Dia Mirza graced the green carpet by wearing a VERB by Pallavi Singhee gown. She completed her look by wearing accessories by Yoube Jewellery and a box clutch. She looked nice!
7. FREIDA PINTO
An unexpected sighting was that of Freida Pinto who was seen in a blue Elie Saab gown, that she’s teamed up with jewellery from Jewellery Bazaar, and a box clutch by Sho+Co. I like that she opted for an updo for this ensemble.

8. BIPASHA BASU
Bipasha chose a Sabyasachi sari for the IIFA Rocks 2016 event. She completed her look with the Aphrodite Clutch by Indo-Canadian label Garéma.
9. SAYANI GUPTA
Here’s a Gaurav Gupta sighting at the green carpet, and it was on Sayani Gupta. I like the fact that Sayani always works something different for events, that surely puts her on our style radar. Here. in an all-white top-to-toe look that she completed with white sandals and The Velvetcase earrings.

10. RICHA CHADHA
The actress took the black and gold route by wearing a cold shoulder pleated and wrap gown with a thigh-high slit; a creation by Philipp Plein. Richa worked a pair of Louboutins in black for this one.
11. NEHA DHUPIA
Ditching the conventional gown or the now-popular pantsuit, Neha Dhupia opted for a white jumpsuit by Marks & Spencer that she layered with a floor-grazing yellow jacket by Payal Khandwala. I think the layer was dramatic enough for this look and added all the charm to that all-white ensemble, one she teamed with a pointy-toed pair of black court shoes. She’s holding a woven minaudière by Bottega Veneta.

12. BHUMI PEDNEKAR
Bhumi Pednekar was seen in a gown by Geisha Designs, earrings by Minerali, and an embellished box clutch by Pratinava. I don’t know if you’ll agree or not, but I think the plunging neckline didn’t work well for her. Tell us what you think of the looks!
