Simi’s Steals: The Simple Yet Fancy Asymmetric Dress
One universal fashion problem for most girls is, “What do I wear today?” This question has the power to reduce us to a hysterical mess. Fashionista or not, nobody wants sartorial answers that cost a fortune. And let’s just be honest, you’re THE style star if you know how to dress to the nines on a budget. So I’ve taken up this Herculean task: every Saturday, I’ll round up a budget-friendly ensemble for you, all BELOW Rs 10,000. Yes! It’s going to be an entire outfit — from head-to-toe — without breaking the bank. Quite a challenge, right? Scroll down to shop this budget ensemble, and don’t forget to come back every Saturday to discover an outfit that’s yet another steal!
Structured clothing took a backseat on the runways this year. But the trend that made quite an impact on the street style scene as well as in celebrity off-duty looks is the asymmetric hemline. Dresses, skirts or even trousers, whatever the garment be, uneven, undone, unfinished, frayed hems helped put the punch into it. I must mention that an asymmetric hemline gives a fancy touch to a piece, and it’s one for those who steer clear from the regular and usual (read: boring) sartorial choices.
This week’s key piece for Style Steals is a rather simple yet flouncy dress from Zara that’s striped with an asymmetric, frilled hemline. Perfect for day wear, I like how the knee-length dress is so simple yet stylish, thanks to that hem detailing. Dramatic enough too — not too much, not too little. I’ve paired it with silver brogues from The Label Life; need not remind that metallics are oh-so-cool right now. Had my budget been a little higher, I’d have definitely picked up this statement applique bag from Mango for this look. But since I can’t, I’ve added this grab clutch in a similar style. I’ve completed the ensemble with minimal accessories from Blur, and added a pair of super-chic cat-eye shades from Mango too.
