Simi’s Steals: The Cutesy AND Trendy Bow Dress

Simi’s Steals: The Cutesy AND Trendy Bow Dress

One universal fashion problem for most girls is, “What do I wear today?” This question has the power to reduce us to a hysterical mess. Fashionista or not, nobody wants sartorial answers that cost a fortune. And let’s just be honest, you’re THE style star if you know how to dress to the nines on a budget. So I’ve taken up this Herculean task: Every Saturday, I’ll round up a budget-friendly ensemble for you, all BELOW Rs 10,000. Yes! It’s going to be an entire outfit — from head-to-toe — without breaking the bank. Quite a challenge, right? Scroll down to shop this budget ensemble, and don’t forget to come back every Saturday to discover an outfit that’s yet another steal!

I think the most effective tactic to get someone to compliment you is by being cute. If you’re like me and get that quite often (Short + Petite = Cute), I know how much it can annoy you. But well, let’s be honest, it helps us get away with way too many things. And then, you know, it’s pretty okay (wink). But for all those who can’t fetch that compliment easily because you’re probably other things but cute (read: super sexy), the fool proof way to be labelled that way is through your sartorial choices. And that’s exactly what my week’s pick is about; a cute bow dress.

All you fashionistas who are glued to current and upcoming trends will not be oblivious to the fact that bows on garments have been quite a hit for Spring/Summer 2016. Big bow accents tied on a dress or a top are quite the “it” detailing this season. Givenchy, Chanel, Moschino, Cushnie et Ochs, Gucci, Miu Miu; you name the label and I’ll give you proof that they offered the trend. Even our Bollywood style stars gave this attention-grabbing trend a try be it Alia Bhatt, Malaika Arora, Kangana Ranaut, and even Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (as seen on the Femina cover). So what’s stopping you from working this trend?

This week, I suggest you to pick up this utterly cute H&M bow dress (it’s in cotton, WIN!) and team it up with a chic pair of knotted flats from Mango. If you’re one to ignore flats because you like standing tall, you can add a pair of yellow pumps instead. I’ve completed the look with an oval cross-body bag in brown. The only accessories I’ve stuck to is a double wrap watch and a tasseled ring. There you go… cute level 101 attained!

PS: Since it’s super hot, don’t forget to walk out of home wearing one of your chic shades.
