H&M Just Announced The Coolest Collaboration Of 2016!

In the fashion world, there’s no better moment than having sartorial geniuses join hands on creative collaborations that get consumers excited. Swedish high street brand H&M has been teaming up with some of the coolest high-end designers/design houses — from Balmain (2015) and Alexander Wang (2014) to Lanvin (2011) and Karl Lagerfeld (2004) — to create much-talked-about capsule collections year after year.

In fact, when H&M announced its collaboration with Balmain last year, it took both style icons and regular fashion lovers by storm. The #HMBalmaination campaign turned out to be one of 2015’s most-talked-about fashion scoops. And now, just hours ago, H&M announced its 2016 collaboration: it will partner with Parisian fashion house Kenzo for a capsule collection that’s clearly going to be heavy on statement prints.

 

 

While not much information has been shared about the collaboration yet, we do know it will hit select stores and online on November 3. It’ll be interesting to watch how this partnership turns out, merging a maximalist brand like Kenzo with a fast fashion one like H&M. With creative designers Humberto Leon and Carol Lim at the helm of this collab, there’s no doubt it’ll be a riot of colours and mega prints. The two designers make fashion fun, which is also why it vibes with the youth of today. Be it embroidered tiger motifs on dresses or eye embroidered sweatshirts and the like, the brand echoes the voice of this generation through its clothing and accessories.

I think Kenzo X H&M will be a deluge of colours and patterns on trend-specific pieces. But that’s for us to find out only later this year. It’ll surely be quite something, as Humberto Leon says, “Together with H&M, we will invite all the costumers and fans to the real Kenzo world.”
