1. India Couture Week 2016: A Recap

The recently concluded India Couture Week 2016 probably took over your Instagram feeds with opulent outfits, incredible makeup, and the twinkling stars of Bollywood. Almost every major Indian couturier showcased dreamy bridal collections that will have you planning your wedding – whether you’ve found Mr Right or not. While new-girl-on-the-block Kiara Advani closed for Anita Dongre, Kangana Ranaut walked the ramp for Manav Gangwani looking like a Queen straight out of the Mughal era. The clincher, of course, was Manish Malhotra’s grand finale featuring Deepika Padukone and Fawad Khan. The clothes, the makeup, the sets, the pairing — this is one show we still can’t stop ogling at. Gaurav Gupta, Tarun Tahiliani, Rahul Mishra, Reynun Taandon, Harpreet and Rimple Narula, Varun Bahl and Anamika Khanna were some of the other names that displayed sheer bridal decadence during the extravaganza.

2. Sabyasachi Launched Firdaus On Instagram

The one major designer missing from Couture Week was every girl’s favourite bridal maestro, Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Though Sabya didn’t participate this year, he managed to pull off a coup of sorts – he launched his elegant, dreamy and absolutely lust-worthy couture collection, exclusively on Instagram. Bearing the designer’s signature trademark, his ‘insta-show’ featured rich embroideries, heavily embellished velvets and tulles, and larger-than-life silhouettes in rich, deep jewel tones. Launched a night before India Couture Week was slated to begin, Sabya and his creations definitely became the talk of the town.

3. Amazon Prime Comes To India

Online shopaholics did a little happy jig when Amazon Prime launched its subscription services in India a few days ago. Apart from a FREE 60-day trial, users will be able to enjoy reduced subscriptions fees, exclusive deals, and one-day or two-day delivery guarantees across order sizes. Say whaaa? Although annual subscription charges are expected to go up later in the year, it’s still a steal deal. So whatchya waiting for?

4. Myntra Buys Out Jabong

The biggest news this month, both for the industry and consumers alike, is that of Myntra buying out Jabong to create the world’s largest ever e-commerce store. Ok, we exaggerate but it’s exciting news nonetheless – without a doubt, it will be the largest fashion online store in India. For a neat little sum of $70 million, the Flipkart-owned fashion e-store took over Jabong from its parent company, Global Fashion Group. You know what this means for us, right? Wider variety, sleeker styles, and better service. Who’s complaining?

6. Adidas Launches Gold Stan Smiths

White sneakers dipped in gold? Yes, please! We cannot stop crushing over these newly-launched Adidas Originals gold-dipped Stan Smiths. Undoubtedly our favourite launch in the last month, they’re expensive, yes, but the intricate gold detailing makes them totes worth it. Do we need any more reason to live in our kicks?

7. Coach Opens In Mumbai

We love it when international brands touch Indian shores and the latest addition in the Indian market makes us happier still. Bearing its signature elegant style, Coach opened its first Indian store in Mumbai’s premium Palladium Mall earlier this month. Now, you no longer need to wait for your next international trip or that aunt to come from abroad to get your hands on one of the luxury’s brand’s beautifully crafted leather bags. Time for a splurge?

8. Longchamp Launches In Delhi

Another international luxury leather brand hit the Indian market with a bang late this month. Known for bags, shoes, accessories and luggage, Longchamp launched its first store in the capital with a party that saw the city’s crème de la crème in attendance. The French company, that is growing at a fast pace across the globe, said that they took their time with India as they were looking for a suitable partner. They finally found that in DOIT Retail Brands, and we’ve found the next stop to burn a hole in our pockets.
