Fashion Moments We Loved And The Ones We Disliked At The HT Style Awards

The Hindustan Times Most Stylish Awards were given out this past Friday to some big names in media and entertainment. Every year these awards are given to the best and brightest in style. Whether it’s a fresh new face stepping on the scene or an established personality enhanced by an added sense of high fashion, this is where we are talking style, big time.

This year was no different. The attendees comprised an eclectic mix of personalities from Bollywood, business, fashion and much else. The red carpet featured many standout fashion moments. While there were looks that we loved for their originality and creativity, some flat out let us down. Here is our honest review of the fashion at the HT Style Awards.

Taapsee Pannu

We are going to kick off this list with a huge shout out to Taapsee and her mega glittering flared pants. The Leal Daccarett callback to this disco classic perfectly matches the actresses’ fearless persona, both in her life and her craft.

Sonakshi Sinha

We can’t get over how on point this particular Sonakshi look is. From the sequinned and feathered Atelier Zuhra gown to the tanzanite, diamond and sapphire accessorising… we love the whole Middle Eastern princess vibe!

Sanya Malhotra

Major props to Sanya’s stylist for putting Sanya in an original bridal gown from an up and coming fashion house Jobert Paris. The silhouette is entirely flattering and so on point with Sanya’s personality.

Anushka Sharma

Winner of the Most Stylish (Female) Readers’ Choice Award award, Anushka’s deconstructed sleeved gown is what makes her unique in the fashion game. This leggy beauty is not afraid to step out of her comfort zone and we are so glad she’s taking fun risks.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

Complementing Anushka, Kareena won the Most Stylish (Female) Jury’s Choice award of the night. Her metallic lehenga moment is etched in our wishlist of bridal trends this season. Just remember, Bebo did it first!

Kiara Advani

It is honestly beyond us as to how they managed to completely fail the otherwise stylish Kiara Advani so badly. The actress is one of our top stalks when it comes to red carpet fashion. But this Shehla Khan outfit on her, plus those gaudy shoes, is a huge letdown.

Radhika Apte

While we do love the colour of this sunny sweet gown, the wavy silhouette and fall are completely wrong for Radhika. It looks poofy and shapeless, doing her no favours. I mean, this is a woman who has rocked her fair share of corsets and risque plunge gowns. Let’s give her something that flatters her, perhaps?

Katrina Kaif

Imitation might be the best form of flattery but not when done so soon! Recreating the now iconic red carpet look by celebrity chef Padma Lakshmi, the similar style and accessorising of this look has left us disappointed. Why must Katrina be made go head-to-head with Padma, not fair!
