These 3 Looks Saved Diana Penty From The Most Disastrous Cannes Debut Ever!

By  |

We had two Bollywood actresses making their debut at the Cannes Film Festival this year – one was Priyanka Chopra Jonas and the other was Diana Penty. While Priyanka managed to wow us from day one, Diana Penty left us reeling.

For her first appearance at the Chopard party, Diana teamed a golden tassled dress by Greek designer Celia Kritharioti with gold embellished knee-high boots. The entire look was blinding and we wish she hadn’t tried so hard. Diana is a pretty girl who would look great in practically anything… except for this of course!

Sadly, her stylists didn’t stop at the first fashion faux pas; they created yet another with an Amit Aggarwal saree-inspired gown. While the silhouette is stunning, and enhances Diana’s svelte frame, those accessories were a whole different story. The Aquamarine jewellery makes her look like a large-than-life Christmas bauble. WTF were her stylists smoking?

Anyhoo, lucky for Diana, her stylist Namita Alexander seemed to have come through for her for the second half of her Cannes 2019 appearances.

Wearing Celia Kritharioti again, Diana Penty looked absolutely ravishing in the black jumpsuit with an OTT blush pink bow detail. And that pose! She was seen at a private party hosted by Priyanka and Nick Jonas in the outfit.

Diana was also seen in a floral trench coat and black knee-high boots walking the streets of the French Riviera, and in her own words, ‘channeling her inner Jolie.’

She finally walked the red carpet for Grey Goose in a breath-taking beige Nedret Taciroglu fringe gown, embellished with faux feathers, sporting an 80s retro hairdo. Definitely a debut to write home about! Diana captioned her Insta photo, ‘Go big or go home!’ and we couldn’t agree more. Diana looked like a dream in this ensemble and we think she’s done us proud!
