Deepika Padukone Totally Wowed Us Over The Weekend
It’s just been three days since she started promoting her new film Tamasha, and Deepika Padukone is already marking her territory as the new queen of style! While I spent the weekend doing some online shopping, napping, chilling, I spent the better part of it checking out Instagram updates of DP’s fashionable outings. And boy, does this woman know how to step out in style!
Due credit, of course, to her fantastic stylist Shaleena Nathani, who has been selecting outfit mash-ups that are nothing less than fabulous. For the dimpled diva’s first outing on Saturday, she wore a striking double-breasted mustard blazer from Balmain that she co-ordinated with a pair of Wild Cat Skinny Jeans by Stella McCartney, which were cuffed at the ankles. Going completely without accessories, she finished her look with a pair of killer Louboutin pumps. I also loved her messy tousled bun: #hairspiration from Deepika are not just chic but also totally doable, no?
The next day, Deepika worked a pair of distressed denims from Zara with a high-collared, floral jacket by Anamika Khanna from her SS16 collection, and aubergine pumps from Christian Louboutin. The ever-so-slight midriff showing through added the right amount of sex appeal. Hair and makeup by the ever-dependable Daniel Bauer was also on point — a high updo, peachy lips and electric blue winged eyeliner and dewy, strobed skin. Full envy vibes!
If you’re a keen fashion observer, you’ll notice how the actress has been favouring easy chic pieces from Nimish Shah‘s label Shift. Not that we’re complaining. We love the designer’s eclectic aesthetic and Dee looks fantastic in them! Her second Sunday outing was in a red, button-down dress by Shift, which she teamed with a pair of Louboutins and jewellery from & Other Stories. She looked effortlessly chic with her trademark puffed hair (adding more height to her already tall frame), that ended in a ponytail was just the hairdo this look demanded. Ankle up, it was all red everything (we love the addition of the red lips) without seeming too much.
Ladies, the promotions for Tamasha have only begun. And you know what that means, right? More awesome looks from DP coming our way. Yay!
