Christian Louboutin Proves That “Nude” Comes In Many Shades!

By now you all know that a bonafide fashionista builds her wardrobe around her basics, and one of those building blocks is a versatile pair of nude shoes that go with everything. Be it flat or sky-high, nude shoes become those go-to wardrobe pieces that you reach out for when you’re confused about what to wear or to tone down an OTT outfit. However, for far too long the term “nude” has reflected only one skin tone (i.e. fair) as the default hue.

Now, legendary shoe designer Christian Louboutin has redefined that for a more inclusive approach to the colour. The brand has launched a range of chic flats in seven different shades — from the lightest blush to the darkest mahogany — to match the varied skin tones we all have. This is like literally like finding your perfect match and totally democratises the way we define “nude”. However, if you’ve been following fashion closely, you’ll know that in 2013 itself the brand launched a “Nudes For All” range of pumps in five shades, that made instant fans out of celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. Now, the brand has expanded that range with chic ballet flats in a total of seven colourways for Spring Summer 2016.

A Parisian silhouette, the Solasofia flat is a pointy-toe shoe that features the iconic red sole synonymous with the brand. Unlike the regular kidskin used in their previous Nudes collection, Louboutin has made use of delicate and flexible Nappa leather, which is less glossy. The flat style is now available on the brand’s site in two new shades, Nude #1 (porcelain) and Nude #7 (chocolate), and starts at $595.
