Can We Please Talk About How OTT Bollywood’s Fashion Was At The Ambani Ganesh Chaturthi Celebrations? We Can’t Relate!

The festive season is upon us! The ongoing Ganapati celebrations has the streets of Mumbai all lit and festive and the sheer glamour of Navaratri is just around the corner and us desis are excited. With Indian festivals come the fabulous clothes, accessories and bling. And while we hound our local masterjis and the overly crowded malls for the perfect kurti or saree, Bollywood seems to have done it slightly different!

Over the weekend, we had many celebs share moments from the Ganapati pujas at their house. It was a picture of sheer simplicity and joy (for a few) with Sara Ali Khan wearing just a pair of jeans as her puja outfit! But it took a glamorous Ganesh Chaturthi party at the Ambani Antilia house to bring the best out of these celebs. Best and perhaps, very, very over the top.

Monday evening saw a train of big-name celebrities at the Ambani house, decked out in deliciously OTT ensembles and we totally #CantRelate!

A Very Shiny Alia & Ranbir

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor cut a chic figure at the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations last night. Alia wore a pretty floral printed Manish Malhotra saree with shiny fringes on the border. We are quite sure women in their mid-20s will attest to this, a slinky saree for a rainy Ganapati puja evening is a recipe for disaster. Also, how are we supposed to shuttle to our friends’ place, who are ALL having a puja at their place?!

Kriti Sanon is sure a brave soul! Another Manish Malhotra creation that has been a big hit with many celebs recently. this cocktail saree is sure to scandalise our mothers in their Kanjeevaram numbers. We do love the touch of gajra though! But also someone tell us, what would she wear to a wedding?

Rekha is a glamorous celebrity who is always in her fashionable best and Monday night was no different. Easily the best dressed celebrity of the night, the actress was a vision in a gold and eggplant-hued saree. It’s gotta be so cool to be Katrina Kaif on the daily! The actress does seem to have a favourite lehenga-saree look and it’s the one from ace designer Anamika Khanna. While we can see her comfortably stylish in this ensemble, it is also a very sinfully extravagant look. We are envious!

Can we please have this Mishru ensemble for our BFF’s engagement party? The lehenga and peplum top set is beautiful and looks divine on Ileana. The trendy style and blush hue is perfect for a glamorous day event and we are pinning this on our mood board for later!
