Bollywood’s Leading Ladies From The 90s Are Slaying The Fashion Game RN And Can Give Us Millennials A Run For Our Money
It is exponentially better to receive a compliment from a woman than a man! A fellow fashionista will appreciate the effort we put into creating an outfit or doing our hair in a different way. This camaraderie stems directly from the fact that we instinctively learn so many things from each other. From inheriting our mothers’ unique fashion statements to literally building a wardrobe with our BFFs, it is a community and we are proud of it. The best part about this sisterhood is the way some women turn trailblazers for the generation to come after them. Every woman looks up to her mom or big sister when crafting her own style. In entertainment as well, we have these fab women who are an example to the starlets following them. As a millennial who grew up in the 90s, I had a whole set of leading ladies who I looked up to. Only difference, these ladies are still on top of their game and we can’t get over how they are slaying the fashion scene!
These leading ladies shaped our sense of style in the 90s. From Raveena’s cropped denim jackets to Karisma’s fitted leotards in her dance numbers, we loved it all. And now, we are loving all the unique style statements these ladies are bringing to the forefront and we have taken notes!
Karishma Kapoor In Her Fabulous Gowns
The always gorgeous Karisma Kapoor has been sometimes filling in for sister Kareena Kapoor Khan as a guest judge on Dance India Dance. It is indeed a treat to watch her take up the role because she does it in the most elaborate gowns. From celestial prints to sequinned beauties, Karisma is reinventing fashion on the small screen and we feel blessed!

Raveena Tandon In Her Retro Lehengas
Can we just stop and gape at Raveena Tandon for a while before we say anything? This firecracker of a performer was the reason why we wanted to learn hip thrusting in the first place. The actress also imbibes some of this 90s charm in her current fashion looks and it is such a treat!
Kajol Devgan In Her Sexy Sarees
Remember Kajol’s green silky saree from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai? Well, that sexy drape scandalized my 7-year old innocent self. Having said that, Kajol has definitely maintained the aesthetic till this day. From her spaghetti blouses to lace-panelled sarees, we want her wardrobe for all of our fancy cocktail parties!
Tabu And Her Modern Ethnic Vibe
One of the most talented actresses of our generation and the next, Tabu has dominated her roles onscreen every step of the way. Off-screen though, this classy lady is busy reading brilliant scripts while dressed in the smartest casuals. Also, the modernity she manages to bring to her ethnic style is fascinating. We love her style quotient and want the secret behind her confidence (and also her youthful glow!).
