Boi’s Budget Buys: The Weekend Lounge Edit

Boi’s Budget Buys: The Weekend Lounge Edit

One universal fashion problem for most girls is, “What do I wear today?” This question has the power to reduce us to a hysterical mess. Fashionista or not, nobody wants sartorial answers that cost a fortune. And let’s just be honest, you’re THE style star if you know how to dress to the nines on a budget. So I’ve taken up this Herculean task: every Saturday, I’ll round up a budget-friendly ensemble for you, all BELOW Rs 10,000. Yes! It’s going to be an entire outfit — from head-to-toe — without breaking the bank. Quite a challenge, right? Scroll down to shop this budget ensemble, and don’t forget to come back every Saturday to discover an outfit that’s yet another steal!

This past week moved at a glacial pace, yougaiz. I don’t know about you, but I am THRILLED that it’s the weekend. After a fun evening out with my besties last night, I’m looking forward to lounging around the house, a cafe or 2, or even the sea-facing promenade this weekend — just to get a break from real life.

I also enjoy the weekends because (apart from being able to catch up on my sleep and not having to wear a bra for a large part of the day) I actually have the time to think about what I’m wearing, how I’m pairing it, and what kind of makeup I’ll do with it.

So even though my dress code for the weekend is usually strictly casual, I do put in a little effort into styling the ensembles. I also finally pull out my shorts and tiny dresses from my wardrobe — you know, the kinds you could, but shouldn’t wear to work.

Which brings me to this week’s cool, casual, and frankly, pretty adorbs summer weekend look. Do you know why I picked these Forever New shorts? ‘Cause you can easily wear them out on a Sunday or at home in bed. Look how cute and cosy?

Teamed with the shorts is this equally cute with a touch of sexy embroidered tube top from Forever 21. Can you think of a better way to dress for brunch in this maddening heat?

Now, I’m a big fan of layers and cover-ups, so I picked out this poncho from H&M — easy-breezy, comfy. But hey, if you’re comfortable and confident enough to carry out this outfit without the additional layer, then more power to you, woman!

The Koovs mules, honestly, were a no-brainer, what with them having their moment in the sun. But it’s the glossy finish that I fell for — adds quite an edge to the look, don’t you think?

It’s the bag and the shades in this entire budget look that I’m most partial to. Those funky ass acetate frames from Mango, and that funky bus conductor sling bag from Princesse K were just too cool to skip. And even though they don’t match exactly with anything else in the ensemble, they do a fab job of pulling it all together.

So now that you’ve got your look for this weekend, that too under Rs 10,000, I’m off to go chill with my roomie and soak up the sun a bit. OK, maybe not, ’cause you know, it’s crazy hot.

Let me know what you thought of this week’s look and have an awesome weekend, y’all!
