Bhumi Pednekar, Parineeti Chopra And Shibani Dandekar Wore All-White Pantsuits And There’s One We Really Loved
A couple of images come to mind when we think of all-white pantsuits. A smart politician stepping onto the podium for her presidential debate. A powerful Bond woman who at first plays victim but later kicks major ass and runs away with all the money. Or sometimes, just Lady Gaga on the red carpet looking like the sleekest cow-girl in history!
The all-white pantsuit holds a special place in women’s fashion. Female politicians use it as a show of sisterhood with their peers. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the youngest US-congresswoman in history, wore a white pantsuit for her swearing-in ceremony. “I wore white today in honour of the women who came before me, and the women yet to come”, she confessed. It is peak power dressing for women who are in-charge and, love to show it.
Given how badass women look in the ensemble, we aren’t surprised to see it translate to simpler silhouettes, making them easier to wear more often. Because we all know, wearing white requires constant attention throughout the day. Just this week, we saw three totally different all-white pantsuits and one of them tugged on our desi heartstrings like no other!
The Saand Ki Aankh press junket has officially begun, which means we will be seeing a lot more of its leads Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu. These girls are so good at creating fun and original ensembles, it is always a treat to watch them strut their stuff. For the trailer launch yesterday, Bhumi wore an embroidered and embellished pantsuit, and added a chic ethnic twist to the otherwise clean cuts. The ensemble came from Papa Don’t Preach by Shubhika, and was made by pairing the gorgeous bralette with a shirt and ankle-cinch pants.
We LOVE this outfit on Bhumi! The actress is always in the best of moods and has a very joyful personality. If there ever was a shirt better suited for Bhumi, it’s this one!
Parineeti Chopra redefined ‘cool’ with her casually fitted pantsuit from Tommy Hilfiger x Zendaya. The outfit has a very ‘magazine editor on an off day’ kind of vibe and we love how it just falls on Parineeti like silky pyjamas. We also loved the hair look on her, with wavy extensions giving her a messy length, she does look very dapper!
Business in the front, sleepover at the back!
This is pantsuit look that we are more familiar with a bit more. Blouses can be replaced by bralettes and bandeau tops on a pantsuit to make it less formal. Shibani Dandekar’s show stopping monotone look for Marks & Spencer is effortless workwear staple at its best. We will always pick a pair of wide-leg pants over snug tailored ones, so this sporty all-white pantsuit has definitely made it to our favourites this week.
Pro Tip: Can’t find a belt, use your bum bag to cinch that volume in instead!
We are quite excited to see Bhumi and Taapsee in Saand Ki Aankh. Check out the trailer below!
