Anushka Sharma Turns Up For A Formal Event In A Simple But Fabulous Outfit And We Love It
According to a recent survey done by personal styling service Trunk Club on 2,000 Americans, “Half of Americans think picking an outfit is the most stressful part of dining out”. While we don’t know how that number translates to Indian crowds, we do know one thing…picking out an outfit for a special occasion can be daunting. As women, we tread a fine line of sometimes overdoing our outfit, especially for formal events. A misstep we are sure one star shall never make. Anushka Sharma joined husband Virat Kohli last night to celebrate a milestone in cricket and a proud moment for Virat, and while at it, she looked totally gorgeous. We can always expect these two to pull a class act and they did not disappoint!
The ceremony, held last night, saw the renaming of the famous Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in New Delhi after the late former Indian finance minister, Arun Jaitely. Furthermore, one of the new players’ pavilion has been named after Virat himself, a huge accomplishment indeed!

For the DDCA Annual Honours 2019, attended by dignitaries in the field of sports and politics, Anushka chose a royal blue ensemble from label Sabyasachi. The simplicity of the silhouette was made up for by the rich colour. Also, we love that the outfit is perfectly classy with its golden detailing, without being too OTT in its aesthetic. The full-sleeved kurta set looks so smart on Anushka, her heavily embroidered dupatta stealing the show in the best way!
It ain’t just the outfit, Anushka accessorizsed the look perfectly as well. We see her in chic chandbalis from Sabyasachi heritage jewellery and a boho potli bag from their Christian Louboutin collab collection. Her natural makeup look was made up of matte, nude lips, a hint of blush, kohl-rimmed eyes and a dainty dark bindi. She completed the look with a center-parted low bun, the chicest hairstyle to do for formal events like such!
The couple was also spotted having a tender moment during the ceremony. Rajat Sharma, president of DDCA, said in a statement, “While we pay rich tributes to the departed soul of Jaitely Ji, we also want to recognize the services that our own player Virat (Kohli) has done to bring laurels to Indians as well as Delhi Cricket. Several of his achievements are mind-boggling”, he confessed. We so agree!
On the work front, Anushka was last seen opposite Shahrukh Khan in Zero. The actress hasn’t come out about a future project yet and seems to be relaxing on indulgent vacations with Virat instead. Given how fun her vacay pictures look, we ain’t complaining. You got get those chill vibes, Anushka!
