Maternity Fashion What? Amy Jackson’s Bold AF Bafta Gown Proves That There Is No Such Thing
If you ask us, the popular consensus on maternity fashion is still a little archaic. From red carpets to magazine covers, pregnant bellies are usually covered up in simple silhouettes, and it’s pretty hard to find celebrities don anything remotely complicated, much less risque for a glamorous award show. With the exception of a few (hint: Ciara), maternity looks on the carpet are super safe and demure.
Fortunately for us, there is one celebrity who gave us an idea of what it would look like if we threw caution to the wind, and dressed how the heck we wanted to, pregnant or not. We’re talking about British-born actress Amy Jackson, who has carved quite a niche for herself down South and has a massive following of her own.
The actress revealed she is expecting her first child with fiance George Panayiotou in March of this year. She attended the 2019 Bafta Awards with him, but it’s the deep plunge and high slit of her Maria Grachvogel gown that made us do a double take. The actress seemed totally poised in this ‘wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen’ and we give major props to her styling team for securing it. Also, hats off to Jackson for pulling this off while heavily pregnant; couldn’t have been easy!
This isn’t the first from Jackson who has been very open about her pregnancy. The actress has embraced her changing body on social media and that’s sending out a good message, don’t you think? The 27-year old has tried to stress on how her personal style has remained unaffected, even when there is a bump in the mix. A small change in the size and silhouette, and you won’t have to stock up on shapeless maxi dresses to stay stylish during pregnancy!
Here’s looking forward to more stylish looks from Amy’s style file.
