Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Throwback Picture From 93′ Is Proof That She Was Always Destined To Be Fashion Royalty
Celebrity throwback pictures are exceedingly charming to stumble upon. They are a gentle reminder that the people we see on screen in all their glory had humble beginnings too, yet the star quality always shines too. This is especially true for the millennial generation who grew up with these stars but don’t remember too much from back then. We love these little time capsules!
One of the people that I grew up watching is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who continues to be one of my beauty icons. A recent throwback shot from 1993 shows Ash in all her young woman with so much poise that it’s borderline unreal.
Shared by photographer Farrokh Chothia, the shot features a black and white dapper outfit from ace designer Monisha Jaising and makeup by Bollywood legend Mickey Contractor. The shot was taken 26 years ago, one before she was crowned Miss World and started on her journey of world domination. Auteur fashion designer Wendell Rodricks commented with Ash’s still standing reputation of being, “The most beautiful woman in the world indeed.”. I remember when I heard it for the first time as a child, right after watching her in Taal, I was spellbound.

Happy Birthday to the super stunning Queen of Bollywood AISHWARYA RAI…she is wearing a magnificent Michael Cinco ball gown at the Cannes Film Festival last May… @sayed5inco @stylepr @asiancouturefederation @couturissimo @_aishwaryaraibachchan #couture #Cannes #AishwaryaRai #Bollywood #IndianBeauty #Dubai ##MyDubai #MadeinDubai #MichaelCinco
It’s honestly charming to think that this picture is from before Aishwarya became so iconic. You can see her being destined for style and beauty royalty. The confidence and grace in her frame are unmissable. Ash has kept up her class act ever since, holding a position of influence in the Indian fashion scene. We wonder if that young girl in the picture knew this is how it’ll turn out to be!
On the work front, Aishwarya is reuniting with Mani Ratnam on his next Ponniyin Selvan. It is based on Kalki Krishnamoorthy’s epic Tamil novel on the same name. There have also been reports of Ash joining her husband Abhishek Bachchan in Sarvesh Mewara’s Gulab Jamun, but it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.
