Aishwarya Rai Bachchan Paris Fashion Week Debut Was With A Show That Celebrates Women And Motherhood. It Was Powerful
As an actress and beauty icon, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has given us many firsts! She is described as the most successful Miss World winner of all time. She became our introduction to the Cannes Film Festival and also sassed comedic legend David Letterman on his own show. Aishwarya always makes minted appearances and makes a show of every appearance – she is a vision of class while representing us on a global platform. Which is exactly what she did with her debut at the Paris Fashion Week this weekend.
Aishwarya was part of the special Le Défilé L’Oréal Paris presentation, walking the ramp with her fellow global ambassadors.
Ash joined the iconic grup of women who have been associated with the brand for decades. In a show that celebrated a diverse group of women, a total of 66 makeup looks were showcased, all of them straight off the runway. In-house global makeup legend Val Garland and her teams of 29 artists created looks for women of all skin tones. Global hair magician Stephane Lancien and his team of 34 artists crafted the hair styles.
The show collaborated with the biggest names in fashion to present a beautiful runway. Aishwarya chose a big floral Giambattista Valli gown, a label we saw on Deepika Padukone in her neon tulle avatar as Cannes this year. The outfit was paired with fringed stilettos and a dramatic makeup look put together from the brand. While many loved Ash’s PFW debut, some naysayers noted that it wasn’t at par with her grandeur and natural beauty. Ace designer Wendell Rodricks commented, “L’Oreal you have one of the prettiest girls in the world and this is how you do her make-up and dress her? Sack the stylist for this sack dress with a note that Halloween is next month”. We don’t completely agree with the criticism but Ash has had far better looks with the brand in the past!

We also saw Eva Longoria bring out her baby boy at the end of the show. It was so pure seeing all the women on stage fawning over the toddler. The show was dedicated to motherhood and all the gorgeous women perfectly embodied that theme.
Coming back to the lady of the hour, Aishwarya especially stunned us with the dramatic purple makeup look. The coral lip paired with an accentuated eye makeup was an experimental look indeed. We can recreate the look with two simple ingredients:
