7 Vegan Shoe Brands For The Ethical Shopper

By  |

Whether you live a cruelty-free lifestyle or want to make a few changes keeping the planet in mind, vegan shoe brands are a great place to start when it comes to sustainable fashion. In 2019 it’s easier than ever to knit out your wardrobe with organic dresses, recycled jeans, and handcrafted sweaters, but what about shoes?

While faux leather and fabric shoes exist, it’s often difficult to find a vegan shoe that’s high quality and chic. But we found a few brands that are doing ethical shoes in their own way. Whether it’s with responsibly sourced leather, recycled plastic or vegan textiles, they’re all delivering on non-granola styles. Read on to discover your new go-to pair.

The Skipper Heel (Rs 26355)

At first glance you will never guess Rafa shoes are actually vegan. The Los Angeles brand was set up in 2015 with the simple goal of creating classic silhouettes that were comfortable and ethically produced.  Their shoes are made of vegan textiles like faux-suede, velvet and plush tapestry fabrics. For a classic 90’s inspired shoe, Rafa’s green Skipper Heels features a comfortable block heel, deadstock metal buckle, and is made using vegan recycled textiles.

Susi Studio

bridgette

Bridgette Red Gingham (Rs 8297)

Founded and designed by Bianca Moran Parkes, Susi Studio’s vegan and cruelty-free shoes are crafted to inspire compassion towards humanity, animals and the environment, through creativity. They use materials like canvas, denim, hemp, and faux leather produced from recycled plastic bottles to deliver wear-anywhere sandals, mules, and boots sans embellishments. The Bridgette in Red Gingham,  inspired by famed actress and animal rights activist Bridgette Bardot herself, is made from cotton and recycled PU. All kinds of perfect for your next day date.

Lulu Faux Snake Kitten Heel (Rs 25975)

Based in the English seaside town of Brighton, this luxury vegan shoe line offers a range of classic-meets-modern footwear – animal print kitten heel boots, party-perfect metallic heels, and block-heeled mules. Made in Alicante Spain, this animal-free line uses Italian vegan leather, recycled microfiber suede, cream lacquered resin soles, recycled faux-leather lining, and a whole bunch of vintage inspired woven fabrics in its designs. We love the faux snake print and kitten heel that’s comfortable enough to wear for running around the city or a glamorous night out.

Matt and Natt

Acacia – Chili (Rs 9019)

This buzzy ethical fashion brand is known for its signature vegan leathers and eco-friendly materials like recycled nylon, cork, and rubber to craft its versatile lineup of sneakers, mules, boots and more. Designed by a close-knit team in Montreal, Quebec, the company is dedicated to social responsibility and authenticity. This tan high vamp espadrille with open toe and an adjustable Velcro backstrap is the vegan summer shoe we are taking into 2020.

Veja

fluo

Flannel Cloudy Rose-Fluo (Rs 9500)

Every millennial wardrobe calls for a chunky sneaker and this French brand is a favourite with the fashion frat. Using fair-trade materials like organic cotton and natural rubber from the Amazonian rainforest, as well as innovative fabrics like upcycled and biodegradable faux leather made out of corn waste, and B-mesh (a fabric made out of recycled plastic bottles), this socially responsible brand is a must for clean but cool kicks with a retro feel.
