The Hot Skirt Baishali Is Strutting Her Stuff In

When it comes to my personal style, I’m a total girlie girl. Skirts, skater dresses, feminine silhouettes and fabrics that hug my body in just the right places are my biggest weaknesses. Doesn’t help that I’m a compulsive high-street and online shopper (read: broke most of the time). My friends have recognised this as a genuine problem so now I have to hide my purchases or lie about when I bought them and how much I spent! It’s a hard life!

But I digress. I enjoy wearing fitted skirts because I’m fairly proud of flaunting my Indian curves. Yes, #ImcurvyandIlikeit is one of my fave Instagram hashtags. So, when I spotted this skirt the other day on Koovs, while I was browsing through some 10 different e-stores (of course, I had NO intentions of buying anything), I knew I had to have it.

Metallics continue to be a huge rage, season on season, and the thigh-high slit on this skirt is just yum. The best part is that it has an elastic waist so it’s not too harsh on my tummy either. The polyester material clings to my hips and sort of shimmies down like a golden cascade on to my knees. Clothes can be so poetic, can’t they?

The fact that it was less than 1,200 bucks was the clincher. Obviously, I took it out for a spin the very day I received the package (my favourite part of online shopping). I paired it with a plain black fitted top, a dainty gold necklace (the idea is for the skirt to take centrestage) and sky-high black peep-toes. Not only did my reflection grin back at me, but I enjoyed the attention I got when I stepped out too.
