Arjun Kapoor Doesn’t Care About The Age Gap Between Him And Malaika Arora. Let’s Back Off!

The thing about us humans is that we just can’t keep our noses in our own business. We want a stake in everything, even things that are not even remotely affecting us. Like Malaika Arora’s armpits, or Mouni Roy’s plastic surgery. But what really becomes a national debate, or dinner table conversation is the dating lives of our Bollywood celebrities. You know, how families will sit around and suggest that Katrina Kaif should marry Salman Khan. Or why Arjun Kapoor is dating Malaika Arora, who is much older than him. But unless you are Arjun Kapoor or Malaika Arora, or the pundit who will perform their future wedding, how does it affect you?

It is not easy to make yourself ready to fall in love after coming out of a broken marriage of several years. But Malaika did and we appreciate that she didn’t let her cynicism take over. Arjun, too comes from a broken family, and grew up witnessing his parents Boney Kapoor and Mona Shourie parting ways. He was raised by his mother, who passed away before the release of his Bollywood debut Ishaqzaade. And if Arjun has overcome his childhood experiences to welcome a healthy romantic relationship in his life, perhaps we need to dial down all the negativity plenty of people are throwing his way. That too from people not related to him in anyway whatsoever. Like okay, they are public figures, not public-owned property, right? Dismissing the whole age-gap matter of public interest, Arjun said, “I wouldn’t even want to speak about this and give it importance. It doesn’t matter to me, so I don’t want to justify anything.”

In a recent interview with Times of India, when asked about marriage, Arjun expressed, “Even though I come from a broken home, I believe in marriage. I see a lot of happily married couples around. I believe it is a good option to have.”

Arjun Kapoor is definitely optimistic about marriage and romance, but he has no intention of jumping right away into it, “Life has to lead you to it. You have to discover things, enjoy the relationship’s ups and downs, and then see where it takes you.”

While Arjun is pro-marriage and the couple are very public about their relationship, a wedding apparently is not on the cards yet. He denied all the rumours, “The day I decide to get married, I will not hide it from anybody. It is not something that I want to hide. If I’m open about my relationship, there’s no reason for me to want to hide my marriage. Speculation is normal because that is the profession we are in.”

So we’ve seen Priyanka Chopra marrying a younger guy, Nick Jonas and Milind Soman marrying a much younger girl Ankita Konwar. Even Saif and Kareena have a significant age gap. Can we all grow up and let love be free? Or at least, not put our noses in someone else’s love life?

On the work front, Arjun Kapoor will be seen next in Panipat, a historical period drama based on the third battle of Panipat.
