These Celebrity Hair Transformations Are Giving Us Serious Inspo For Our Quarantine Cuts

There’s a popular saying that a girl who changes her hair is about to change her life. Something tells me this is what drove all girls to undergo major hair transformation during the lockdown. Tell me if I am wrong but we were so sick of being on house arrest, we wanted something exciting and risky to satiate our hunger for adventures. And a hair transformation seemed to check all the boxes. You see, every other Insta post I saw was a girl posting her #newhair selfie. Quarantine cuts are a real thing. And, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t one of them. Raise your hands if you too got so bored in the quarantine that you reached for the scissors and went chop-chop on your hair.

Hair change is liberating sure, but isn’t always an easy decision. You go through days, if not weeks, of self-motivation, Pinterest browsing and second thoughts before you finally take the plunge. However, once you do sit in that chair and get your hair chopped off, or coloured or turned into a hairdo with bangs, it is sort of a priceless feeling. And, this self-isolation gave us the perfect opportunity to switch up our look and get a DIY hair makeover since who even cares? If you didn’t like it, you didn’t have to show it to the world and let it grow out.

Whether it was the look-altering bangs that you were contemplating to get since forever or chopping off your long locks for a short do, lockdown was and still is a great time to make that big hair move. Not just us normies, Bollywood celebrities share the same sentiments as well. Don’t believe me? Here are all the celebs who opted for a quarantine cut in the lockdown and gave us major hair transformation goals. Don’t be surprised if you get a sudden urge to reach for your scissors after seeing this.

Alia’s Lob By A Loved One

Alia Bhatt shared a picture of herself in the very beginning of the lockdown where she switched her medium-length mane for shorter, cuter lob. At that time, salons were shut and I am pretty sure Alia was steering clear of her HMU sessions with her glam squad. So, she resorted to her ‘loved ones’ to get the job done. She wrote, “Yes I cut my hair AT HOME – thanks to my multitalented loved one who rose to the occasion when I was in need of a chop chop.” Rumour has it, it was Ranbir who helped her with her hair makeover but we’re not her to make any assumptions. Must say, he (oops, they) did a great job!

Priyanka’s Bang-On ‘Do

Not everyone can pull off bangs, unless you are, you know the Miss World, I guess. Recently, Priyanka Chopra shocked her fans when she posted a photo with caption, “New hair, don’t care” sporting choppy bangs with curls. Now, she has had bangs before (think, her In My City hairstyle) which were wispier and looked cooler on her. I gotta say, this time it may be a miss but isn’t that the whole point of hair experimenting in the lockdown? So, if you too are thinking about dipping your toes in the fringy hairdo, take inspo from her and do it already. Remember to not care if you decide to post it on your Insta just like PeeCee.

Kriti’s DIY Hair Chop

Kriti Sanon got her #summerhair done by her sister Nupur and posted the video of them DIYing the haircut with caption, “Baal baal bach gaye… Watch it till the end to see for yourself! Have never ever gone this short!,” I could never trust my sister with scissor anywhere near my hair, TBH. But then again, what are sisters for anyway, right? Grab your sister or best friend to do it for you (so you can put the blame on them if you don’t look good in your new do).

Radhika’s Blunt Hair Move

Radhika Apte’s hair chop was no fluke or result of quarantine boredom. In fact, it was a well-thought out move. She posted a picture of her long locks back in May and said, “Going to take a pair of scissors and chop the length. I love how long and healthy my hair has grown. But it’s time to say goodbye! #detachment” Next day, she shows up on our feed with a gorgeous blunt, shoulder-grazing lob and said “And it’s all gone!!!!” The short length actually looked pretty chic and refreshing on her, mostly because we had never really seen her go so short.

Hair transformations can be tricky and you are not really sure whether the new look will suit you unless you actually make the move. If you’ve been meaning to test the waters and get your hair surprisingly short, or coloured in a quirky hue, or get bangs, well this is your time. Go all out and switch up your do. If you like it, keep it post lockdown and if you don’t well at least you’d know how it will look on you. The hair mishap will be between you and the four walls, and your hairstylist. So, what are you waiting for? Grab a mirror and an at-home hairstylist to help you!
